The Girl Who Liked Dogs

One evening a girl named Emily went to the Pet store. She looked at a few lizards and some fish but she couldn't find the one. Just then her eye caught on a dog. She stood there for a second and then she walked up to the dog. She said you're pretty. The dog was $50 and she only had $30. She went back home and asked her mom if there were any chores around the house that she could do. Her mom said yes. In fact, here is a list:

1. do the laundry
2. make the beds
3. change the baby
4. mop the house
5. sweep

So she got to work.

The next day she had $25 more. She went back to the pet store and bought the dog. She took him to her house where she named him Jak Jr. after her dad. She played with him but she quickly got bored of him so she went back to the pet store. This time she decided on a chameleon and a 50-gallon lizard tank for it to live in. It was a little too big but she bought it anyway. In order for her to buy this pet she had to do chores again. These included:

1. cook dinner
2. mop
3. organize (too hard. She didn't do this)
4. dust
5. fold the laundry

She did all but one.

Eventually she got bored with the lizard and went back to playing with Jak Jr. She decided that sometimes you just choose one pet over the other. And she chose the dog because dogs can do more things, like play catch, take a walk, catch a frisbee, and chew a bone. By the way, the lizard's name was Chico.
