got up early and painted main street again
so you could eat your croissants by four
and buy your antiques by the dozen
in sunhats and silvery shoes
and 'i just got back to the states'
and 'i just love what you've done with your hair'
and 'how do you take your tea?'

i'll take mine with two lumps
three caps
and a stem

just so I can find
this whole setting
even slightly amusing.
