lebanon, pa

livin' on in lebanon, pennsylvania
livin' off the lean of the land
cigarettes and gradual euthanasia
drinkin' down each day by the can

the fence falls and it doesn't even phase ya
just chalk it up to bad luck once again
'cause everybody knows that life ain't what you make it
just take what you get and do your best to pretend

half way through this fight and you're bloodied up and bruised
and when they tried to take away your pride
you said 'fine, it doesn't have any goddamn use to me'

she leaves the porch and heads down to the basement
bitchin' about the day that she's had
as you stare ahead into the evening's gray haze
and smoke until you feel the heat on your hand

all the world seems to have found it's stride
but it left behind just two
but she's the one who hasn't even tried then she cried
when you screamed 'what more can I do'?

got a postcard from downtown philadelphia
talking about all the good times that they've had
him and an uptown by the name of anna maria
walking through the park hand in hand

but you're just stuck here in lebanon, pennsylvania
living off the lean of the land
cigarettes and gradual euthanasia
drinking down each day by the can

living on in lebanon, pennsylvania…
