Beginnings
Atop the perron
a boy and his father
watched the moon glow increscent
The first night has begun
Starry eyed and mystified
the boys tired eyes grew full
Bullets flew overseas
and starving children cried
Soldiers couldn't sleep
and saintly mothers died
Here though a dream was born
as the gloom of all sadness
was forgiven
and sorrow for tomorrow
was slowly shed
A man and his boy
walled off from the world
alone in the night
under the moonlight
A man and his boy alive
on this the very first night of life
