Ezra Pound Might Have Been On To Something

What if Pound was correct, that for every bad poem read, two good ones must be read to take its place, to repair the damage done.

What if something along the those line could be said for poets, that before passing through the gates of heaven their poetry must reach the same 2-to-1 ratio.

St. Peter guarding the entrance to heaven and watching over an endless line of poets, hunched in grade school desks with extra large pencils writing for eternity.

Perhaps the Iliad was not simply the literature masterpiece we are taught in school, but simply a poet trying to make some sort of amends.
